Basketball Game Preview: Rye Cove Eagles vs. Holston Cavaliers

The Rye Cove Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Holston Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

Rye Cove will head into Saturday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 74-32 loss at the hands of Patrick Henry. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Holston waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 46-41 W over the Panthers. While the Cavaliers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Holston pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Rye Cove, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Rye Cove suffered a grim 61-40 defeat to Holston in their previous meeting back in December of 2018. Can Rye Cove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
