East Mecklenburg has gone 8-2 against Providence recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The East Mecklenburg Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Providence Panthers at 7:30 p.m. East Mecklenburg is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

East Mecklenburg lost 79-54 to Charlotte Catholic on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Cougars are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Providence challenged Garinger on Tuesday. Providence put the hurt on Garinger with a sharp 72-46 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Panthers have posted since December 6, 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Providence and bumps their season record up to 4-12. As for East Mecklenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

East Mecklenburg beat Providence 58-47 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will East Mecklenburg repeat their success, or does Providence have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
