Volleyball Recap: Sunnyside Takes a Loss

Sunnyside lost against Douglas back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blue Devils fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs.

Sunnyside started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-13, 25-12, 25-17.

Janessa Sanchez was her usual excellent self, getting 39 digs and three aces for Douglas. Sanchez has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played. Aydil Montano was another key player, getting 17 kills, six digs, and three aces.

Sunnyside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Douglas, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Sunnyside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Browne on the 15th. As for Douglas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Andrada Polytechnic on the 15th.
