Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jaden Hartsfield and George Richardson Lead Southern Nash to Victory

Southern Nash lost to Bunn back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Southern Nash Firebirds skirted past the Bunn Wildcats 43-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.

Leading Southern Nash to victory were George Richardson and Jaden Hartsfield. Richardson dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Hartsfield posted 15 points and three steals. Those 18 points gave Richardson a new career-high.

Bunn's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Josiah Rice, who put up 13 points and three steals, and DJ Smith, who earned 12 points and five steals. Bunn is 5-2 when Smith posts three or more steals, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Bailey, who had four points and five rebounds.

Southern Nash now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Bunn, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Southern Nash will welcome Northern Nash at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Bunn, they will take on Nash Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bunn is facing Nash Central at the right time seeing as Nash Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
