Atlantic Christian hasn't had much luck against Lake Worth Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Sharks will take on the Defenders at 4:00 p.m. Atlantic Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Atlantic Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Palm Beach Lakes, taking the game 13-9. The Sharks haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Andres Nava made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Nava was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Atlantic Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Landon Moffitt looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Micah Herring was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Atlantic Christian is 5-1 when Herring posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Cooper, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Atlantic Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lake Worth Christian fell victim to Somerset Academy - Canyons and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 11-0. The Defenders have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Atlantic Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Lake Worth Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Atlantic Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .499. However, it's not like Lake Worth Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Atlantic Christian couldn't quite get it done against Lake Worth Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 13-10. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
