Basketball Preview: Bennett Clippers vs. Pocomoke Warriors
Bennett is 8-2 against the Warriors since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Bennett Clippers will be playing at home against the Pocomoke Warriors at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Bennett's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
Bennett pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-61 to Decatur. While losing is never fun, Bennett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Seahawks are ranked 33rd).
Meanwhile, Pocomoke pushed their score all the way to 74 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 82-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wicomico. Pocomoke has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bennett's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6. As for Pocomoke, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Bennett took their victory against the Warriors when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 90-64. Does Bennett have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
