Softball Preview: Swain County Maroon Devils vs. Robbinsville Black Knights

Swain County is 0-10 against Robbinsville since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Maroon Devils will square off against the Black Knights at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Faith Woodard was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley Shuler, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Robbinsville came tearing into Friday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Yellowjackets as they made off with a 12-1 victory.

Swain County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Robbinsville, their record now sits at 13-3.
