New London's win ends 14-game losing streak on the road

Recap: New London Wildcats vs. South Central Trojans

The New London Wildcats's 21-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They escaped with a win against South Central by the margin of a single free throw, 52-51. New London's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Eric Sanders and Gunner Ray certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Sanders scored 19 points along with four steals, while Ray scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Bryan Chaffee, who scored three points along with seven rebounds.

New London's victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9. As for South Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New London will take on Monroeville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mansfield Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th.
