Baseball Recap: Lincoln Northwest Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Lincoln Northwest's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top against the Standing Bear Grizzlies by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-0 last Tuesday.

Sam Stevens was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bryant Bailey, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Lincoln Northwest's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Standing Bear, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln Northwest will challenge Holdrege at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Dusters have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.88 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Standing Bear, they will welcome Columbus at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
