Volleyball Recap: La Porte Bulldogs vs. Texas City Stingarees

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Friendswood, La Porte was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Texas City Stingarees as the La Porte Bulldogs made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While La Porte might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Texas City scored at least 16 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-7, 25-16.

La Porte can attribute much of their success to Sophie Sandel, who had 17 digs. Sandel is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

La Porte was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August.

La Porte's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-13. As for Texas City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.

La Porte will head out to challenge Ball at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Texas City, they will welcome Friendswood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
