Ironwood Ridge came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Sahuaro Cougars 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Nighthawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ironwood Ridge's got stronger as the match went on, holding Sahuaro to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-11, 25-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ironwood Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Selena Serrano, who had seven digs and two aces. Kendyl Shields also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Ironwood Ridge was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. They are 8-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Ironwood Ridge's record now sits at 13-10. As for Sahuaro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

Ironwood Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Salpointe Catholic on the 30th. As for Sahuaro, they will head out on the road to challenge Cholla at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
