Recap: Waldron Mohawks vs. Tri-Central Trojans

It was a good run, but the Waldron Mohawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by Tri-Central 65-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Waldron has scored all season.

Several Mohawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Jones, who scored three points.

Tri-Central had a senior duo take command as Stetson Newcom scored 17 points along with seven steals and six assists and Landon Grant scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The match was Newcom's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Trenton Patz was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.

Waldron's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Tri-Central, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Waldron will be staying on the road on January 5th to face off against Triton Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Triton Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Waldron in Indiana (Triton Central is ranked 150th, while Waldron is ranked 325th). As for Tri-Central, they will look to defend their home court on January 5th against Sheridan at 7:30 p.m.
