Logan came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Knott County Central Patriots with a sharp 17-3 victory. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kaylee Conley was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Laura Lambert was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.2.

Logan's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Knott County Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Logan will venture away from home to face off against Pikeville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.75 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Knott County Central, they will challenge Letcher County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
