Baseball Game Preview: Delaware Valley Terriers vs. Hackettstown Tigers

The Delaware Valley Terriers will venture away from home to square off against the Hackettstown Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Delaware Valley fell victim to Rutgers Prep and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Argonauts by a score of 1-0. The Terriers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hackettstown put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Kittatinny Regional. Fans of the Tigers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

The team relied heavily on Joey Rowinski, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Jacob Echandy was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Hackettstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive games.

Hackettstown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Delaware Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Delaware Valley skirted past Hackettstown 6-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Terriers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
