Softball Recap: Timberland's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Timberland's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Charleston Math & Science Riptide with a sharp 19-7 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolves' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Bristol Martin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Martin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaleigh White, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Sellars, who went 3-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs.

Timberland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the victory, Timberland broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10. As for Charleston Math & Science, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timberland will challenge Williamsburg Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Charleston Math & Science, they will square off against Hardeeville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
