Basketball Recap: Rodrick Winston's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Uplift over Little Village

Uplift lost against Little Village back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Uplift Titans lost to the Little Village Phoenix on the road by a 74-60 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (58), the Titans still had to take the loss.

Uplift lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rodrick Winston, who posted 18 points. The game was Winston's third in a row with at least 18 points. Jordan Williams was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Little Village to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyshawn Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Pablo Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 14-4. As for Little Village, they pushed their record up to 23-5 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Uplift will challenge Phoenix Military at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Little Village, they will square off against Bowen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowen will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Little Village surely won't give up without a fight.
