Tarpon Springs suffers tenth straight loss at home

This season hasn't been kind to the Tarpon Springs Spongers, who are still winless after their seventh match. They had to suffer through a rough 72-11 loss at the hands of Clearwater. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tarpon Springs has scored all season.

Emily Cartier was Tarpon Springs' leading scorer, having posted seven points. Cartier also led the team in rebounds with five.

Pink Sturdivant was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points for Clearwater. The game was Sturdivant's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allevia Williams , who scored 15 points.

Tarpon Springs bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Clearwater, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Tarpon Springs will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Gulf at 7:30 p.m. Gulf will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Clearwater's road trip will continue as they head out to face Keswick Christian at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Keswick Christian is ranked 156th, while Clearwater is ranked 167th).
