Volleyball Game Preview: Summit Hilltoppers vs. Rahway Indians

The Summit Hilltoppers will head out to take on the Rahway Indians at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Summit is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since October 10th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Dayton 2-1. The Hilltoppers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Summit who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rahway, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Linden by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday.

While Rahway won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-23.

Summit's record is now 7-17. As for Rahway, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Summit has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Rahway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Summit came up short against Rahway when the teams last played last Wednesday, falling 2-0. Can the Hilltoppers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
