Soccer Game Preview: Douglas/Rapid City Christian vs. St. Thomas More

The Douglas/Rapid City Christian Patriot Comets will venture away from home to square off against the St. Thomas More Cavaliers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Douglas/Rapid City Christian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Douglas/Rapid City Christian's offense. They came up short against Stevens on Friday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Douglas/Rapid City Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota soccer rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Stevens are ranked second).

Meanwhile, St. Thomas More has been on a difficult stretch since their win on August 26. They fell just short of Rapid City Central by a score of 3-2 last Thursday.

St. Thomas More's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Douglas/Rapid City Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Douglas/Rapid City Christian couldn't quite get it done against St. Thomas More in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Patriot Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
