Softball Game Preview: Booker Tornadoes vs. Bayshore Bruins

Booker is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Bayshore Bruins at 6:00 p.m. Booker will be strutting in after a victory while Bayshore will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, everything went Booker's way against Southeast as Booker made off with a 50-33 win. The victory continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their matchups with the Seminoles: they've now won four in a row.

Booker got a massive performance out of Valeria Howard, who scored seven runs and stole 13 bases while getting on base in eight of her nine plate appearances. A'Rayia Davis was another key player, scoring seven runs and stealing 11 bases while getting on base in seven of her eight plate appearances.

Booker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .576. The last time their batting average was this high was since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Bayshore came up short against Southeast on Thursday, falling 22-8.

Booker's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bayshore, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Booker might still be hurting after the 25-2 loss they got from Bayshore in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Booker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
