Recap: Serra Cavaliers vs. Los Alamitos Griffins
The Serra Cavaliers extended their postseason success on Friday against the Los Alamitos Griffins. They walked away with a 38-28 win over the Griffins. The win was nothing new for Serra as they're now sitting on three straight.
Cincere Rhaney was his usual excellent self, rushing for 212 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Rhaney has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmy Butler, who threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Serra's defense and their 5.5 sacks. Leading the way was Khary Wilder and his four sacks.
Serra pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points per game. As for Los Alamitos, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.
Serra has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Servite at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Los Alamitos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
