Baseball Recap: Northshore Find Success

Northshore lost to Vandebilt Catholic back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Terriers 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Connor Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Carson Malasovich tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Brody Dukes was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Derek Weilbaecher, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Northshore's win bumped their record up to 32-5-1. As for Vandebilt Catholic, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 23-10.

As of now, neither Northshore nor the Terriers have any future games scheduled.
