Baseball Recap: Silver Creek Raptors vs. Holy Family Tigers        
        
		
            Silver Creek extended their losing streak  to four  on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-9 in the process. They came up short against  the Holy Family Tigers, falling  13-4. The Raptors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
 Silver Creek saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Nate Spiegel, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  RBI.
As for Holy Family, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record  this season. 13 seems to be a good number for they as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
On Holy Family's side,  Kaden Hopkin was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. Hopkin has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  earning two  RBI and one  run.
 In other pitching news, Holy Family got a great performance from  Brendan Ward as he  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   six  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  Ward has posted since back in March.
 Back at the plate,  Logan Seifarth was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Holy Family is undefeated when  Seifarth posts two or  more  runs, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Dustin Bennett, who  got on base  in five of his six plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Creek will venture away from home to  face off against Horizon  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Holy Family, they will head out to  challenge Frederick  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.2  runs per game this season.
