Softball Recap: Cerro Gordo/Bement Takes a Loss

Cerro Gordo/Bement was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fisher Bunnies. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bunnies from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Cerro Gordo/Bement saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Malone, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Cerro Gordo/Bement's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Fisher, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cerro Gordo/Bement will challenge Sullivan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redskins have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Fisher, they will square off against El Paso-Gridley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bunnies are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
