Basketball Recap: Parrish Community Comes Up Short

Parrish Community lost against Manatee last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Parrish Community Bulls fell to the Manatee Hurricanes 38-32.

Despite the defeat, Parrish Community saw an underclassman step up: freshman Romana Lind went 5 of 6 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds. Lind is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayna Bowen, who posted 14 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Parrish Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Parrish Community has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Manatee, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Parrish Community will challenge Bradenton Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manatee, they will square off against Bayshore at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
