Softball Recap: Wakeland Wolverines vs. Reedy Lions

After flying high against Emerson last Saturday, Wakeland came back down to earth. The Wakeland Wolverines fell just short of the Reedy Lions by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolverines have suffered since February 11th.

Lauren McIllwain made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Kinney, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Wakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Reedy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Wakeland will host The Colony at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
