O'Gorman is 8-2 against Washington since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Washington took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on O'Gorman, who comes in off a win.

O'Gorman is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Lincoln, who was ranked fourth at the time (O'Gorman was ranked second). The Knights came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 12-7 on April 3rd. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Rylan Arbogast made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Arbogast was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sully Schlimgen, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Jack Sundvold was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Brookings, falling 16-4.

O'Gorman's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went O'Gorman's way against Washington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as O'Gorman made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
