Basketball Game Preview: Clover Blue Eagles vs. Rock Hill Bearcats

Clover and Rock Hill are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Clover Blue Eagles will take on the Rock Hill Bearcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Clover will be strutting in after a win while Rock Hill will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Clover was able to grind out a solid victory over Catawba Ridge, taking the game 46-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Eagles.

Meanwhile, Rock Hill was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 56-50 to Catawba Ridge. The Bearcats haven't had much luck with the Copperheads recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Clover will have to contain Kyriq Dickens as he made an impact in Rock Hill's last game. He posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Deionne Robertson, who scored three points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Rock Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Clover is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Rock Hill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-11.

Clover beat Rock Hill 60-48 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clover since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
