After flying high against Catoctin last Friday, Middletown came back down to earth. The Middletown Knights fell just short of the Herndon Hornets by a score of 65-63 on Friday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Middletown's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3. As for Herndon, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Middletown and Herndon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings. Middletown (ranked 113th) will meet Yorktown (ranked seventh) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Herndon will challenge Brunswick at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday down 130 places (172 vs. 42).
