Softball Game Preview: Pinckney Pirates vs. Monroe Trojans

The Pinckney Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Monroe Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Pinckney's last matchup with South Lyon East could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Pirates came up short against the Cougars, falling 10-3. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Monroe made easy work of Pioneer on Monday and carried off an 8-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won five in a row.

Monroe's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Pinckney, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Pinckney suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Monroe in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
