Lee County hasn't had much luck against Powell County recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Pirates at 3:00 p.m.

Lee County is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Wolfe County, falling 9-0.

Meanwhile, Powell County entered their tilt with Bath County on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Wildcats 14-5.

Kane Knox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Powell County got a massive performance out of Carter Poe, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The Pirates are 4-1 when Poe posts two or more runs, but 9-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Carter, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Powell County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Powell County's record is now 13-16. As for Lee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.
