Soccer Game Preview: Avalon vs. Washington Latin Public Charter School

Avalon is 0-4 against Washington Latin Public Charter School since September of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Black Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Avalon has given up an average of 9.4 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Avalon lost 11-1 to Springdale Prep on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Avalon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland soccer rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Springdale Prep are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, E.L. Haynes kept up with Washington Latin Public Charter School until halftime on Tuesday, but afterwards: not so much. The Lions never let E.L. Haynes get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Give Washington Latin Public Charter School's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

They hit E.L. Haynes with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Nic Beggs, Simon Baldwin, and Jamie McAloon.

Washington Latin Public Charter School's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Avalon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Avalon suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Washington Latin Public Charter School in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Black Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
