Softball Recap: Navarro Gets the Win

Navarro's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Llano Yellowjackets 19-7. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Caylee Schronk and Jill Baker did most of the damage at the plate: Schronk went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and three doubles, while Baker scored five runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. Those three hits gave Schronk a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelbi Stevens, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Navarro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Navarro's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7-1. As for Llano, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Navarro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-14 defeat against Blanco on the 11th. As for Llano, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-7 loss against Canyon Lake on the 11th.
