Volleyball Recap: Praise Academy Takes a Loss

Praise Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Dominion Christian Knights. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in August of 2021.

Praise Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 25-15.

Dominion Christian was led to victory by Rachel Caldwell and Ashley Cook. Caldwell had 18 digs and two aces, while Cook had five digs and two aces. Those five digs gave Cook a new career-high. Norah Lytle also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Praise Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dominion Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Praise Academy will take on Northwest Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dominion Christian, they will face off against Heritage at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
