Softball Recap: Pope Francis Prep Has No Trouble Against Commerce

Pope Francis Prep never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Commerce Red Raiders 16-0. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Lacey Bermudez-Lizardi was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Moreau, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Pope Francis Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Commerce only posted an OBP of .235.

Pope Francis Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Commerce, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pope Francis Prep will venture away from home to challenge Amherst-Pelham Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Commerce, they will head out to face off against John J. Duggan Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
