Football Recap: St. Amant Takes a Loss

St. Amant dropped to 7-3 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Denham Springs Yellowjackets and fell 54-26. The matchup marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tre Mayfield, who threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 37 yards. Another player making a difference was Jaquan Gordon, who picked up 160 receiving yards and one TD.

As for Denham Springs, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won six contests by 27 points or more so far this season.

Da'Sean Golmond had a dynamite game, picking up 135 receiving yards and three scores. Those 135 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

As of now, neither St. Amant nor Denham Springs have any future games scheduled.
