Brewer takes loss despite strong efforts from Chloe Romine and Bailey Hale

Recap: Brewer Patriots vs. West Point Warriors

The Brewer Patriots and the West Point Warriors squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Brewer Patriots had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 73-43 loss at the hands of the Warriors. While losing is never fun, Brewer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while West Point is ranked 25th).

Brewer's loss came despite strong showings from Bailey Hale and Chloe Romine. Hale scored eight points along with four steals, while Romine scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals. Hale is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Lilly Grace Yancey was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Brewer has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-17 record this season. As for West Point, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Brewer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Point, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Russellville. West Point has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
