Volleyball Recap: Harrison's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After flying high against Heritage Christian on Thursday, Harrison came back down to earth. The Raiders fell just short of the Center Grove Trojans by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Raiders' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Cole Hess paced Harrison's offense, picking up six kills. Hess got some help from Ian McKinney and his 14 assists. Kegan Wargo controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Center Grove found their leader in freshman Xavi Pineda, who had 13 digs and two aces. Martin Pentchev also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Harrison's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Center Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season.

Harrison has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against North Central on the 19th. As for Center Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Guerin Catholic on the 19th.
