Volleyball Game Preview: Castaic Coyotes vs. Trinity Classical Academy Knights

The Castaic Coyotes will venture away from home to take on the Trinity Classical Academy Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Castaic lost 3-0 to Valencia last Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Coyotes in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost eight in a row.

Castaic was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-9, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Trinity Classical Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Palmdale Academy Charter School on Thursday, taking the game 3-1. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-17.

Castaic's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10-1. As for Trinity Classical Academy, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything went Castaic's way against Trinity Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Castaic made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
