Softball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem blew Tallwood out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Tallwood got their revenge. The Sundevils fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-5. That's two games in a row now that the Sundevils have lost by exactly two runs.

Sophia O'Connor made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Salem dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Tallwood, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will challenge Bayside at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Sundevils are facing the Marlins at the right time seeing as the Marlins are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Tallwood, they will take on First Colonial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
