Football Recap: Montgomery Central Takes a Loss

Montgomery Central dropped to 3-3 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They and the Randleman Tigers were almost perfectly matched up, but the Timberwolves suffered a 22-21 defeat. The Timberwolves lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in September of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 47-7 score last time.

Noah Rodriguez threw for 90 yards on eight of 17 attempts. Jamarion Richardson was his top target, picking up 56 receiving yards.

As for Randleman, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.0 points over those games.

John Kirkpatrick was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 230 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 56 yards and one score.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Montgomery Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Ledford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Randleman will square off against rival Central Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
