Basketball Game Preview: Academy for Classical Education Gryphons vs. Northeast Raiders

Having just played yesterday, the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons will head out on the road to face off against the Northeast Raiders at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Academy for Classical Education's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Northeast's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Academy for Classical Education took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-39 victory over Bleckley County.

Meanwhile, Northeast and Southwest faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. Northeast strolled past Southwest with points to spare, taking the game 58-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Academy for Classical Education's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points over those games. As for Northeast, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.

Everything came up roses for Academy for Classical Education against Northeast in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 55-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Academy for Classical Education since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
