Soccer Game Preview: Patrick Henry vs. Marion

Patrick Henry hasn't had much luck against Marion recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rebels will welcome the Goat at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Patrick Henry's victory against Rural Retreat wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels beat the Indians by a goal, winning 3-2. The win continues a trend for Patrick Henry in their matchups with Rural Retreat: they've now won five in a row.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Marion and Richlands, and Marion kept the tradition alive. The Goat's defense stepped up to hand the Blue Tornado a 3-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Marion, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Richlands with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Nelson Arcia-Arce, Josue Montoya, and Santos Zelaya-Diaz.

Marion's victory bumped their record up to 8-1-1. As for Patrick Henry, their win bumped their record up to 2-7-1.

Patrick Henry might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from Marion in their previous meeting on April 7th. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rebels were down 4-1.
