Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for New Prairie

Rochester typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday New Prairie proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Zebras by a score of 8-5. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Colton Griffiths spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on nine hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zak Henrich, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Bryce Bell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

New Prairie's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Rochester, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.

Coming up, New Prairie will challenge Kouts at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Rochester, they will take on Manchester at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
