Basketball Game Preview: Eastern Mennonite Flames vs. Blue Ridge Barons

Eastern Mennonite is 0-5 against Blue Ridge since February of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The Eastern Mennonite Flames will be playing at home against the Blue Ridge Barons at 6:30 p.m.

Eastern Mennonite is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They were beaten by Miller School of Albemarle 87-34. The game marked the Flames' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 71-63 win over Stuart Hall. The score was all tied up 29-29 at the break, but the Barons were the better team in the second half.

Eastern Mennonite better keep an eye on Dreylan Creasy-Quirindoongo. He was instrumental in Blue Ridge's win, going 5 of 9 en route to 15 points. The contest was Creasy-Quirindoongo's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kosi Mgbejiofer, who posted nine points and three blocks.

Blue Ridge's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.1 points per game. As for Eastern Mennonite, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Eastern Mennonite came up short against Blue Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 73-64.
