Volleyball Recap: Kyla Calnin and Rylan Harder Secure Win for Montello

Montello extended their postseason success on Saturday against Roncalli. They blew past the Jets 3-0. The win was familiar territory for the Hilltoppers, who have now won three matches in a row.

While Montello won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-16.

Leading Montello to victory were Rylan Harder and Kyla Calnin. Harder had 13 digs and two aces, while Calnin had six digs and two aces. Harder is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Montello was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 21 consecutive matchups.

Montello's record now sits at 33-6. As for Roncalli, with the defeat, they broke their seven-match winning streak and moved their record to 16-15.

Looking ahead, Montello is taking a road trip to challenge Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Roncalli does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
