Preview: Noxubee County Tigers vs. Louisville Wildcats
Noxubee County is 1-9 against Louisville since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Noxubee County Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Louisville Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses dating back to last season for Noxubee County and three for Louisville.
Noxubee County's 26-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were dealt a 71-8 defeat at the hands of Neshoba Central on Tuesday. Noxubee County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-2.
Meanwhile, Louisville was just a bucket shy of victory last Tuesday and fell 54-53 to Leake Central. While losing is never fun, Louisville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Leake Central is ranked 48th).
Noxubee County's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Louisville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Noxubee County came up short against Louisville in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 64-52. Can Noxubee County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
