Recap: Sarcoxie Bears vs. Marionville Comets
The Sarcoxie Bears lost against the Marionville Comets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. Sarcoxie's tough 61-38 loss to Marionville might stick with them for a while. Sarcoxie has not had much luck with Marionville recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Marionville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anna Bright led the charge by scoring 16 points. Bright hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Murphy, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Sarcoxie's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Marionville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.
Sarcoxie will look to defend their home court on Friday against Central at 7:30 p.m. As for Marionville, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pierce City at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Pierce City and Marionville are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
