Football Recap: Beaver Beats Emery for Their Ninth Straight Win

Beaver put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Emery Spartans to the tune of 49-7. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

Beaver can attribute much of their success to Davin Orton, who threw for 138 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Orton a new career-high in passer rating (153.3).

Beaver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 262 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Beaver, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Noah Wolff, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Beaver's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Emery, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Beaver will challenge Duchesne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Emery, they will square off against Judge Memorial Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
