Baseball Preview: Midd-West Mustangs vs. Montoursville Warriors        
        
		
            
 Midd-West and Montoursville are an even 4-4 against one another  since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Midd-West Mustangs will head out on the road to  take on  the Montoursville Warriors at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Midd-West is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses.
 Last Friday, it was a hard-fought  matchup, but Midd-West had to settle for  a  7-6 defeat against Mifflinburg.
  Kyle Shupp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Cole Shutt, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with a  double.
 Even though they lost, Midd-West  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with ten  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mifflinburg only tossed six.
 Meanwhile, Montoursville can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent  contest  on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  16-0 margin over Lewisburg. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Montoursville considering their one-run performance the  match before.
  Quinn Ranck was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with four  runs and a  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  Michael Reeder, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 Midd-West's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Montoursville, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven games,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record  this season.
 Monday's   matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Midd-West has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Montoursville struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Midd-West beat Montoursville 9-5  when the teams last played  on April 10th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Midd-West since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
